Has anyone had any luck customizing their own sneakers?

I usually rock a pair of black and gold kicks for football season (Saints Fan)

Any way I got a pair of Jordan six black and varsity red and I want to replace the red color with the an old gold to match the saints color scheme. I got this idea when I saw the OVO six being released at the end of the year.

Does anyone have any tips as far what type of paint to use, making stencils, etc

These are a pair of wolf grey 5s that got ruined during de-yellowing. I used angelus paint for everything. You're also gonna need a lot of different size brushes.
