Nurse told me my balls might swell up right after. Not looking forward to this. Guess I’ll plan to stock up on high fiber cereal, oat milk and plenty of coffee :sadcam:
After a week, everything will go smoothly and you will be back to normal over time. Just listen to your body and take it slowly in the beginning.

Got crazy shoulder blade pain. Can’t lay on this comfortably. Lifting the body up sends crazy pain.

Making turns while driving while left shoulder feel like it’s gonna come out the skin

I’m going in Thursday breh. 37 and healthy but been dealing with this inguinal hernia for the last 4-5 years. Just ran 8 miles today and am very active. What do I need to know? Not looking forward to this recovery time
5 years, holy shyt breh. :damn: i had a double hernia and it completely crippled me, like i couldn't nut without blacking out from pain (hurt WAY more than when i broke my back). you'll be aight, i thought the surgery would take me out for a minute but i was totally pain/swelling free in like 2 days and back to normal activity in a week. they didn't cut me open tho, they did the version where they went in thru my belly button with a laparoscope. actually the thing i remember most is i brought a form to the pre-op consult for disabled parking plates on some "i've been reading horror stories online, could you please sign this:feedme:" and the surgeon laughed at me and said no cause there's basically no chance of having an outcome that bad.

edit: also prepare to have terrible constipation, make sure to rock up on miralax :lupe:

You will be sore for a couple of days. Going to suck if you have to poop because you really can't use your large intestines to move the bowels. Was able to move around somewhat comfortability about a week after surgery. Felt normal again after 4-6 weeks.

This. I barely even took my pain meds. Used maybe 3 the first couple days

I just got diagnosed with one.:mjcry: Are you able to lift again? How much did the surgery cost you with insurance? I just started a new job so I’ll have to wait 90 days to qualify for health insurance.

I had one about a decade ago. Felt like I got hit by a bus the first few days. I was cool after that. Back to activities in like 6 weeks. I lift now like nothing ever happened

Was surgery expensive?

With insurance it’s not too bad

The surgery itself isn’t too bad. I had a robotic laparoscopic surgery. Was in and out the same day

Didn’t take the oxy they gave me afterwards

It’s gonna be a bit uncomfortable the first 2 weeks but you’ll be back to normal soon enough

I do feel some pain lifting heavy things sometimes tho

I didn't lift the first few days after surgery but started lifting lightly the following week and went up in weight after each week. Like other stated, you are going to feel like sh1t after the surgery but the pain goes away after a few days. I only took the meds for 2 days then the pain was manageable w/o them. I can't remember how much it was but it wasn't overly expensive after my insurance. You should be able to hold off the surgery as long your intestines doesn't get strangulated. Avoid squats, dead lifts or anything that cause straining around the area for now.
