You must be from Idaho somewhere ole potatoe head ass nikka :heh: Cats been getting they swell on, there's not been a time in my life where I didn't see people in the gym like that.

If people being at the gym messes with your workout then either your workout is trash and / or you need to go at a different time. Real lifters adapt and adjust their workout to whatever the environment and time restrictions allow. Smith machine using, quarter squat doin cats sit around waiting for "their" machine, bench or rack to open up. Like their isn't any substitutes for whatever you're about to do
Well explain to me how someone who only has access to dumbbells, a flat bench, a leg curl/leg extension machine, lat pull down machine is going to not end up having imbalances in turms of muscles. You NEED a squat rack and you NEED a barbell to bench press and dead lift. Skipping dead lifts, bench, and squatting will fukk you up because of the side effects of muscle imbalance. Yes you need to adjust your workout based on your environment but no one said it's optimal and has no side effects:umad:.

you don't work out unless you let the world know about it. almost everyone who works out posts about it on social media. obesity is at an all time high.

Can more affordable gyms be a reason why there might be more people in the gym? I don't know how expensive gyms were 10 years ago but I started lifting seriously in 2010 and even since then, prices seem cheaper now. I pay $8.99 a month for my gym and it has everything I need.

It seems like everyone is lifting nowadays :blessed:. Everyone one here at my college does it. A few years ago when you tube was still in its infancy it seemed like weightlifting was a niche that mostly comprised of athletes, now it's almost become a fad because everyone does it :what:. Can someone explain the reason behind this weightlifting craze:jbhmm:? It literally seems like everyone is lifting, I'm not exaggerating . My guess is that it's become easier to start weightlifting because of all the available resources (youtube,bodybuilding.com,gnc etc. but I could be wrong. Another part of me things that it's because of women...

edit: when I say everyone I'm referring males and to the people who have enough money to afford the things needed to lightweights (gym membership, whey protein, foam rollers etc.). Middle class peeps :pachaha:. It's kind of annoying because all the squat racks are taken nowadays :sadbron: workouts take longer than needed too now :francis:.
It's not a new fad.
Gyms and health clubs have been around for decades.
The 24/7 ones and no-yelling-Planet-Fitness-trash-gyms-for-super-pussies have been around for a couple of years.
Cross-fit is kind of new, but is a mix of regular weight-lifting and Olympic-style weight lifting.
