It is said that Sidney Poitier plays a 'Dragon' Moor (aggressive, war like leader) and the symbolism in this film gives insight to plenty of hollywood films such as LOTR and The Dragonslayer and even Game of Thrones somewhat.

supposedly the Dragon represents the blackman or Moor and their dominance at the time period. They search for or battle for & with symbols of 'light'. They can only usually be defeated in the films by 'light' (intelligence) or illumination.

This is where the symbol of the Phoenix comes into play (XMEN for example) which is also usually a representation of the Phoenix Moor (a more philosophical leader)

brehs yall gotta see this :gladbron:

I'm watching this joint right now, no wonder people look at Sidney Poitier with such esteem. I ain't never seen a blackman with this much power and status on film :whoo:

Hollywood still has whitewashed the movie down but some of the quotes, they giving props on this joint makes a breh :jawalrus: when the Vikings arrived in Moorish territory: Viking Sailor "Where are we?" Vikings Captain answers "Civilization"

and when the breh Poitier came through tooled up, armored up with the Gold Breast Plate & the gold plated rubies :krs:

He just called the Viking Captain "a savage" :ohlawd:
