Took one recently and got a 142 on it.

I know im not the only one who has taken one

Only tests administered by psychologists are valid. I took the WISC-III back when I was 14, and the results were shocking, but make sense in retrospect.

Either way, if you had a 142 IQ, you wouldn't be posting on the Coli and you'd be a lot more accomplished in life. This isn't supposed to be an insult.

What's it like being that smart? Does it affect that easily you relate to people? Most of the people I've met with genius IQ's aren't that intelligent socially

I have 40 post on the coli per day you tell me. Honestly it has its cons. Like you tend to be more lazy and you tend to try less because everything comes so easy.

On the topic of IQ tests, the quality of tests vary and the meaning behind them is dependent on who you ask.

From what I understand from taking these tests and asking others about them its your ability to pick up, process, and store information and how quickly you can do this.

I don't know if the test you took is a valid, but if it is congrats.

What do you do? Anything tech related?

I teach my own self how to code and all of that. As far as the money online that's something else irrelevant to what I'm in school for.

If it aint ducktales then thats good sh)t I have a little experience with coding and its not the kind of thing most can learn on their own without someone there explaining some of the concepts behind it.

I just finished school myself in the tech field (DBA to be exact) and landed my first real job about a year ago

Just like every industry...you go through industry bullsh)t tho

Are you doing good so far? And what exactly is it you want to do in the long run and your preferred salary?

I'm doing alright. What you'll find is even though certain positions normally have very distinct lines of responsibility, if you land at a company going through growing pains you'll end up doing your job and then some. So it can get stressful.

At one point 3 months back I was doing junior DBA tasks AND sys admin tasks. Thats a completely separate department

In addition I quickly found that with of these types of jobs its a good idea to have some type of internship under your belt to get a feel for real life scenarios and issues in environments that often have multiple points of business, and political bullsh)t that make your job harder than it needed to be in theory (departments refusing to help each other etc)

Luckily there is a senior DBA still here so I can always pick up the phone or shoot an email and ask questions if I have to. But without him those first 6 months would've been :whew:

I came in the door making 75... I'm at 80 now with a few successful projects and implementations under my belt.

I know that might not sound like a lot to the ballers and millionaires on this site but hey i'm livin' :manny:

All I wanted was a measly 65-70k after graduation. But I decided to go ahead and teach myself to code now and get some projects under my belt(successful ones) so that can also help me on my resume as well as put some side change in my pocket.

Silicon Valley wages... They're MUCH higher in Frisco. Sh)t out here they got dudes doing desktop support for around 55k and these dudes are barely proficient. Most of the posters of this site could do the job.

I remember at Sohh there was a thread like this and most of them cats said they were making 100k+ one dude even said he thought that was average pay for a college grad. sh)t had me like :sadcam:

If you go the engineer route though, THOSE guys are walking in the door with 80k out here. Good field to get into plus it puts you in a position to come up with your own ideas and projects without having to come out of pocket off top by having to pay someone to code for you

Good luck breh

I took a similar test when I was 9, the Canadian version. I scored in the 99.7th percentile in some sections, and in the 14th percentile in some other section. It's fascinating how the brain works and can be trained. It's funny that our society so values physical and aesthetic training, but training your brain and its vast potential is totally ignored.
