Has Beyonce made a song as good as Me Myself and I since?

Not to mention that Brandy was more popular than her when they were both alice and sold more records.

Brandy was more popular but she wasn’t more important musically than Aaliyah.

Eventually, your precious Brandy jumped on the Aaliyah bandwagon when she had Timbaland produce her most critically acclaimed album to date. Yes, Afrodisiac sounded like some Aaliyah leftovers. She was trying to capture the sound Aaliyah legitimized years before hand.

Off the strength of her career being elevated once she passed I think I’m right. She would be just like mya or ashanti if she was still alive... irrelevant.

Well first off I don’t like even like madonna but she was in this conversation so i included her. Death is a great rebranding strategy and your art is elevated to importance AFTER you die. And Aaliyah debuted only 1 year and a half before Beyonce. You can thank Missy and Timbaland for her sound. You all are just stuck in the 90s

Thank Missy and Timbaland for her sound? Why? When she had an entire classic album two years before hand?

Another revisionist nikka I gotta set straight. Lol. I know y’all get tired of lying on Aaliyah and getting corrected. Death didn’t catapult Aaliyah into stardom because she was already a star before hand. This is the same Aaliyah that was performing on the Oscars, getting #1 records from airplay alone, taking movie soundtracks to platinum, and beating our prime Britney Spears for Awards.

How does this work?

Delusional

Aaliyah’s tired overrated ass shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as mariah, Madonna, janet, or beyonce.

Thanks for proving my point about this Beyoncé cult. No valid rebuttals, just insults, to even the dead.

And stop it, Aaliyah was big since 1994. She was in a hit movie before she died. She had number one singles already. Did her death elevate her? Of course, but so did Tupac’s. That’s not to say that neither were already huge when they were alive.

Bare in mind she was going to be in The Matrix sequel. I won’t even get started on Beyoncé’s “acting” career. :mjlol:

Most people in here (including myself) have already given props to her vocals. And she is one of the best performers of this generation but her music is fast food trash.

The fact she couldn’t pick a song from her catalogue to sing at Obama’s inauguration should say everything .

Imo I don't think so.

That song is legit the only the only song from her I listen to. And if there was another I would listen to that to

That's how I feel. Like I wanna like more of her music but it's just an element to her shyt that's missing.
I can listen to Aaliyah, Erykah, Brandy, hell even that Ella Mai broad and not feel no type of way. But with Beyonce it's just, different.

It’s because most of her songs are extremely juvenile. You then realize her music mainly caters to gays and chicken heads.

Those artists you mentioned (not sure about Ella Mai though) made mature music for mature audiences as well. When you compare the substance of their music, it’s not hard to see why.

My ex when (when I was way younger) was obsessed with Beyoncé, so the signs were there that she was remedial. That’s my red flag now if I’m interested in a lady.

:ehh:
Which makes sense, cuz Bey lowkey an airhead her damn self when you listen to her talk. I was kinda taken back by that too, like she legit blonde status....which would be cool i guess if she were more vulnerable, and her persona wasn't so damn choreographed and neatly packaged.

And Ella Mai that chick that sing Trip

Yeah, she’s not the most eloquent of individuals. Cardi B is a dumbass hood rat but she doesn’t try to hide it, she embraces it and that makes her more endearing.

As you said, all these choreographed stunts she pulls to seem perfect makes her off putting to the public. And that shows in her music too.

But hey, I guess I’m just hating.
