Has Drew Brees ever played with a Pro Bowl WR?

You don't think having one of the GOAT RBs and 2 future GOAT TEs helps at all? :heh: Not to mention a great system and a bunch of good recievers. Who cares about 8 man fronts and walking mismatches none of his WR made the Pro Bowl. :pachaha:

I respect Brees but lets not act like he wasnt considered replaceable in SD and allowed to walk for nothing in his prime.

What is this magical system he plays in?

If were going to talk about overall offensive supporting cast(and even then he wouldn't be high on the list) its different. Were talking strictly WR in this thread.

If you want to make a thread asking which HOF QB has had the best overall offensive supporting cast(WR/TE/RB/OL) you can make that any time you want.

One that's clearly different from the on he played in SD when his numbers weren't close to what he's put up in NO even though he had LT demanding 8 man fronts and Gates beasting.

You mentioned his numbers and all-time rankings. More than just strictly WRs play a role in those things.

When the next dan marino/Running back thread pops up I'm going to bring up The Marks brothers and I don't want no one to say " but but were talking about The running game here"

And what happens if they do? :heh: It's always humorous to me when people make statements like these.

Anyway I don't recall anybody ever attempting to draw a correlation between Marino's HOFhood or individual brilliance and his lack of a running game. Only time I ever hear about his lack of a back/balanced offense is when people talk about his team not winning. Offenses that can run the ball have a much greater track record in terms of winning SBs than pass heavy offenses that are overly dependent on their QB. Since the Marks Brothers were apart of the passing game you can't really use them has proof that the team could run. Well I mean you could but it wouldn't really make sense.

It would be the similar to this thread. That's why I made the example

That thread would be about the position of running back and I would bring up the position of Wide receiver unrelated to the thread in hand. Just like in this thread I'm talking about wide receiver and people are bringing up other positions like running back

I didn't ask if he played with a pro bowl running back, so bringing up LT is irrelavant to this thread which has been my point for like 3 pages now.

So you really gonna try to act like playing with LT or Gates or Graham in the right system doesn't help him put up numbers? :comeon:

He doesn't just throw to WR's breh. WR's aren't the only thing that impact a passing offense or help a QB put up numbers.

Conversely WRs can't do anything about a team's ability or willingness to run the ball. Just stop breh. :heh:

This. PPL on this site routinely show how clueless they are. First if all, The term "Pro Bowl" means nothing. The whole idea of the Pro Bowl is a joke, and using that to rate a players ability is asinine. Put up all WRs and TEs for draft, and Jimmy Graham will be one of the first names off the board.

Second of all, in very many cases, QBs make WRs, not the other way around. Sure there's always exceptions (I'm looking at you Calvin Johnson), but there's a perfect case study for this year in Greg Jennings. PPL talk about him being a "weapon" for Rodgers, yet he goes to Minnesota, and has completely disappeared. Did he get worse? Was he THAT much better in Green Bay? No, the guy throwing him the ball got worse. See how that works? Same thing with a Fitz, and look at Andre Johnson this year. Both are always high on the "Best WR in the League" lists, and neither have played like it. Why do you think that is?

Off that same point, elite QBs get more out of guys than average QBs do. Rodgers/Brady/Manning/Brees all elevate WRs to higher levels. Look at all the guys Manning has made "viable" NFL WRs/TEs. Guys leave for greener pastures, and turn into shyt (Deion Branch, the aforementioned Jennings, Hell, former Saint Robert Meachem can fit in here).

So I cringe whenever I hear how a QB has all these "weapons". Like Manning. All them "weapons", and only one was remotely close to being a household name before he got his hands on 'em. Rodgers is always pointed at as being surrounded by weapons, yet he's got 2 practice squad players putting in legitimate time, and one of them is having the kind of year that, pretty soon, he will be one of ARods "many weapons". Same damn thing with Brees. That offense is basically a plug-n-play. Whether you put Dez Bryant or Joe Smith in New Orleans, you know what would happen? He'd be open just as much as Colston or Lance Moore is.

So...all receivers are created equally? QBs an make receivers but receivers can make Qbs too.
