Even as a kid watching WCW i knew flair would never go over. It confused me a little because Flair was hyped as a GOAT but dude would NEVER beat Hogan. Maybe by DQ or count out or some shyt but never by pin or figure 4.

I did a little research and could only find a match in 99 where flair may have won without a DQ or count out.

Thats 1 in over like 75 matches they had together (not counting tag matches)


Hogan couldnt do a little bit to put Flair over? He was a superstar that got continuously buried.

Flair, who had gained control of WCW for 90 days on a December 1998 edition of WCW Monday Nitro, ordered referee Charles Robinson to use discretion in stopping the match; as a result, Robinson did not stop the match when Flair bled first, nor would he count for Hogans own pin falls. Charles Robinson made a fast three count to give the match to Flair.

Which is why you cannot take folks like Jim Cornette serious when they get on their high horse talking about guys “exposing the business” and all that non sense. Hogan was not even top 5 in ANY kayfabe category in wrestling yet for 15 years he was the most dominant force in wrestling going over every all time great multiple times. Hogan’s entire career is a behind the curtain on wrestling politics and the effect being a draw has on booking.

I remember Botchamania making fun of this, that was a First Blood Barbed Wire Cage Match and Flair bled first yet he won by ref fukkery... at least we know where Vince was inspired when he came up with that Seth/Fiend Cell Match fukkery
