Future is the ultimate version of what Wayne was trying to do. Future mastered it and took it way further than Wayne has the ability to do.

Wayne is the Model T of the trap sing/rap auto tune sound.

Future is the future concept car version of it that no one can buy.

Me and my patna had this discussion not to long ago and we both got Wayne in our top 2. It’s very much a debatable topic tho. Pluto got one of the best catalogs in rap


But ima be real, I got Future. His music just connects wit me a lil more than Wayne & the replay value better. He just makes better music than Wayne but he obviously not a better lyricist. That’s not even close.

Another thing too is Wayne mixtape catalog not on streaming platforms so it’s hard to get some of the shyt we grew up on like the dedication series, da drought 3, etc.


Do I think Future surpassed Wayne musically? Yes. Influence wise? No.

although i think future mixtape run was a bit overrated i think its better in the sense that he was making full fleshed out songs that had/have actual replay value. He was making songs for every mood, feeling and different lifestyles and settings and that shyt was fire

This is a wild reach. I don't even like Wayne all that much, but 2005-2008 Wayne was the most sought after feature EVER. At no point in Future's career was he ever the biggest rapper in the world, which was 2008 Wayne. Wayne arguably was the biggest artist out in 2008. Wayne had leaked songs that were big.
