I give Jay one more album. If it's subpar, then he totally fell off.

I liked BP3, and I really liked MGHG. :yeshrug:

Jay music will never be as good as his past work to me, just based of nostalgia, but whatever..
bp3 is underrated. idc what people on this site say.. it spanwned catchprhases people still use . "one to the next one " is the most incorrectly used phrase other than "long hair, dont care" by simple bytches

I thought MCHG was a solid album, but I didn't like BP3 at all.

I'm sure he can still write very well when he tries, but he needs to be challenged or find some source of inspiration to get back to his past heights. Maybe that happens for his next album; maybe that happens 10 years from now; maybe it never happens.

I dont think he gives a fukk. Jay-z is not a true artist. His last album was one big commercial, even more vapid then usual from him.

What? Are you saying Jay came up with the phrase "on to the next one?"

I can't say he's lost it because he has shown flashes of brilliance and I don't see any rapper as being able to "lose it" in the sense of just becoming wack because it's not something like basketball or football where your skill diminishes with age; being a dope rapper is based in keeping your mind sharp and clearly Jay's mind is still sharp. I just think he's lazy, point blank. He's got other interest and the hunger isn't going to be there anymore because he's already made it. And he admitted a while ago, can't remember when, maybe around 2006, that he finally got to the point where he truly respected the culture and the music and genuinely loved it. Prior to that, "rap's my new hustle" and that's all it was to him. He does it cause he loves it now but he doesn't have that fire to do it anymore at that level on a consistent basis

He still smacks us wit a dope 16 here and there but his last 2 albums have been below Jay standards , so I would say he definitely lost a step. His ear for beats not as good either cuz MCHG production was :scusthov:

either way that album is underrated.. it had some anthems on it. and some other gems.

He shows flashes of skills but he is just inconsistent. I would rather Jay do another album with Kanye, since he is dropping one verse (two at max) per song he is more likely to spit a hot verse. I'm concern at his flow. He shoulda spazzed on tracks like Picasso Baby and FUTW.

Already Home

I liked this song, but it had one of the biggest fails of his career with that "oh they call me a camel" line. That's insecurity right there, and for a man of with his succes that's a fail imo. Always makes me laugh when I hear that track.
