Kanye's acknowledgment isn't as important as it was though. The shyt he's released since MBDTF has been :scusthov:

Kanye has accomplished waaaaaaay too much to feel the need to credit anyone let alone someone who has had an amazing rookie season & still hasn't gone platinum...

Fans these days feel their favorite artists have to be validated... it's the age of instant gratification...

Is that why he signed The abstract, works with Mos, had both Ghost and Rae on his latest project. Not to mention Mase. His right hand men being Pusha-t and Mike Dean? Worked with Pete Rock and Rza on WTT..

Produced a bunch of joints on Drakes first album, put J. Cole, Com, Talib, Lloyd Banks, Charlie Wilson, Lupe and Dipset for Good Fridays?
Switching up and working with some new sounds is a problem for producer these days?

What you said is as stupid as saying Knicks always lose, they lost yesterday, 2 weeks ago and the week before that :smh:.
Q-Tip and Mos werent even on his label's project, yet Mase was :deadmanny:

GOOD Friday was over 2 years ago breh, times change. He aint fukking with ANY of those artists now. That was promo for MBDTF, and it was successful, but hes not giving them tracks or verses for their shyt. He wanted to remind people that he was still a rapper, and he did so by extending his reach as far across the rap game as possible. I'd love to see it again, instead of generic DJ Khaled "anthems" from someone of his talent

Its not all bad, he did throw Ghost on New God Flow which was the highlight of that project honestly. Pusha T is a good look, and showing love to RZA and Pete Rock on WTT was some cool shyt. But there was also a lot of transient expired garbage on there too

Switching it up and working with new sounds is what Ye was doing up until about a year ago when he started pandering to the lowest common denominator and completely dumbing his shyt down. He's riding the wave of the new generation, and its disappointing, because Ive always viewed him as a trailblazer (venturing out of the genre with Jon Brion, Mayer, Adam Levine etc). He may decide to start making interesting creative music again, like he used to, but right now...Kanye is all smoke and mirrors to me

He's not young anymore, and mainstream hip-hop doesnt really sit and think about what used to be, it hops on the latest until that gets boring, finds something else and everyone flocks to it. Kanye NEEDS to be famous. I feel like hip-hop isnt really his only "lane" now (modern art, fashion, Kim K etc) so the best way to keep one foot in the door is to be buddy-buddy with "hot commodities" of today and keep your name out there. Its all PR and thats cool, its clearly working for him but I feel like he checked-out, creatively

A lot of rappers that have been grinding hard this year probably feel some type a way about a new jack being crowned the hottest MC in the game by the biggest piece of media that cares to do it. People have a hard time understanding why Kendrick's stories and vulnerability resonates so much with others and I get it. It's not your convential rap album especially when held up to the sound of traditional classic albums, there's weird voices, the chorus on some songs aren't mindblowing, and the main character gets punked and is weak throughout a large part of the story. Despite all that people still fukk with GKMC and they can relate to the things he's saying but at the same time still have fun with the whole thing.

Doubt Kanyes jealous or being a bytch. Does he have a history of jealousy? No, cause he's usually at the front of the line setting new trends and moving the music in all kinds of directions. If anything maybe just for Big Sean cause that's his new artist, but all that will happen is Big Sean will get push to go harder for his upcoming album. shyt the other day some song of his came on the radio with him talking about how come they don't teach kids about taxes :leon: whole song wasn't on that stupid swag shyt that's finally leaving the forefront. Point is Kanye has the type of career, control over his music, and pull that other people would be jealous of, not the other way around.

The reason why people resonate with Kendrick's album and his character is because your average fan isn't a super drug kingpin who fukks dimes on a daily constant and drives Bentelys and live in castles. The stories Kendrick tells in his music ya average person goes through. Fiending for a girls attention only to be used. Hanging with ya homies getting into trouble just because. Being a kid growing up in a gang environment and just going with it because that's all you know. Repping your city to the fullest. I love it. I love the vulnerablity in his music. Makes him more human and relatable to me.
