i only use it to maintain a way to contact coworkers from the past. Especially managers and people who looked out for me. Outside of major career updates Im not on it. Surprised to see people use it like facebook now. Your coworkers arent supposed to know all your personal life details.

I had a very interesting ending to my day yesterday...
My line manager asked me to stay behind for a "5-minute chat" in the office after my last meeting of the day. When time comes, he then tells me that we will have to push back by a further 7 minutes because it requires our Project Director's attendance. That 7 minutes wait then turned into 15 and the wait was not pleasant. So many thoughts running through my head about what this "chat" could be about and I must admit that they weren't positive thoughts. It felt like a disciplinary hearing was about to happen but what for?
Our Project Director eventually emerges from his office and let's us know that he's ready and directs us to one of the meeting rooms for the chat. Another member of the project team then joins us in the room and at this point I had to ask: "seriously, what is going on here?"
Our Project Director then pops out the room and returns with something in his hands. Everyone in the room smiled and that's when he goes: "Congratulations! You are the LPT2 Employee of the Month for the month of March". Those 20 minutes of worrying suddenly turned into one of the most rewarding moments on National Grid London Power Tunnels 2 project so far. It was so humbling that my hardwork had been recognised.

During our team meeting, my CEO mis-gendered me. He called me a “he” instead of “she/they/who. I was shocked and traumatized by his actions and decided to speak with him after.

He was apologetic for his actions and created a company training around pronouns with free pizza.

As great as this action is, we still have more work to do and I’ll keep pushing it forward at Ralthinstein & Wolfe Firm. #alphabet #poc #hsuywveyqy #growth
