Well you should use your empathy and see how you would feel if someone acted as though there's something inherently wrong with taking a man's name just because they weren't born a woman but some people are too comfortable in arbitrary gender roles that give them more power (males and females, it's not just men) that they don't want to question things and even will enforce some of them but then complain about the consequences of them.
