Not to sound like a LeGBT member but I read somewhere that LeBron has more social media followers than every MLB player combined.
If one thinks MLB has a better product than the NBA, well that's a whole nother argument. Me personally I enjoy both, especially now that the Knicks and Mets are both good teams at the same time.

I know the Mets missed the playoffs, but they got eliminated from playoff contention the last day of the season. I been following sports since 2002 and the Mets season is usually over by June
I still think the Mets will be competitive in 2026.

It helps that most of the big market teams are all good and/or were in contention. Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Mets, Phillies and Cubs.
But like someone said Baseball is in a weird spot right now. It looks to be soaring, but anytime they have momentum they fukk it up. Good chance there is a lockout after next season. And they about to be on like 8 different networks/streaming platforms next year which might be problematic
