I think it really depends on the circles you run in, it’s only a few people I know that I can talk MLB and NBA with. Otherwise it’s one or the other.

Where I’m at though the mlb team is more popular, but I think the performance of the specific team may be a factor too.

Idk… I will say this, the World Series > NBA finals. Like it hasn’t been particularly close in terms of overall hype.

Dodger stadium has no issues getting 50-55k to show up on any given day, but if the Lakers had a 50k seating venue they'd fill that bytch too.

as a fan, the average MLB game is a better overall experience and far more cost efficient than a NBA game.

World Series drew significantly higher than the Finals
NBA Conf Finals beat AL/NLCS
First two rounds of playoffs were basically even if exclude NBATV games, edge to MLB if you take those out
NBA RS games on ABC outdrew MLB games on Fox
NBA RS games on cable outdrew MLB games on cable
National games for the entire season + playoffs were about even with slight edge to NBA

Doesn’t include local games but I’d imagine edge to MLB

MLS is definitely growing.

When Etihad Park is complete, that place is gonna be packed every night and will be one of the rare stadiums NYC got right.

NYFC needs to become The NY Cosmos tho
