Handchecking wont do anything to stop the threes, the Rockets & Magic took threes by the truckload in the 90s when there was handchecking.

The only way to really address it would be removing the corner three altogether and pushing the line out to 25-26 feet.

Blame the zone . That really stiffles individual brilliance inside the arc. If you can't shoot/dont have shooters you got nothing coming into today's league.

It was for people who like post up moves, defense and intensity. Game is different now, but one can appreciate differents ways of playing the game.

It seems to me that over the last 15-20 years or so the league the league has slowly shifted towards the euro style with more focus on perimeter shooting and bugs that can spread the floor instead of posting up. Everybody knows the NBA is trying to become an international business and I think this is to boost appeal the appeal globally. After the dream team made so much money and garnered so much attention around the world, it's the natural course of a business born in a capitalist/imperialist system to expand globally

The corner three is a bit of an issue, it's a closer much higher percentage shot so it doesn't make sense that it has the same value as the further top of the key & wing threes.
