I've been predicting this. The NFL is doing the exact same thing as 2000s NBA; taking fans for granted. fukking with teh game and rules for no reason, trying to turn players into PR reps and "sterilize" the game, squeezing the product for everything they can get out of it RIGHT NOW.

If I wasn't too busy to find a new network provider, I would've dropped DirecTV this year.

I mostly watch RedZone on Sunday or the niners. But as demographics continue to change in this country, I think we will see growth for soccer and continue to see growth in bball. Don't be surprised if one day basketball is the #1 sport in America. Maybe not in our lifetime but I think one day it will be.

Arent people just finding other ways other than tv to watch the game?

I wouldnt read too much into this because live sports is the only thing that has stopped a tsunami of cord cutters from putting a major hurt on cable providers

I expect that by around week 3 the NFL brehs will be able to beat their chest in triumph over the godzilla sports league...

Limited product, tailgating culture, fantasy sports and gambling is a 4 pronged beast

When Google, Facebook and Apple come through with the digital talk in a few years.... #itsover

YouTube viewership for sports content is growing at a wild pace.

Man I think tv networks are gonna have to keep shelling out big dollars to keep the NFL from getting too cozy with other viewership avenues

But at some point even the tv networks are gonna have their limits on what they are willing to pay....after a certain price its diminishing returns

sheeeiiiiiit, if they stay with the broadcast networks it'll strictly be based off of relationships or some kinda under-the-table bribery because these digital companies got all the money they can ask for.

it's overrated for the most part

and alot of these fans were just fans b/c it was popular. Those type of fans don't last forever.

Not really. Because the respective leagues themeselves will use their own services. MLB TV is pretty dope for what it is.

And there's already NBA League Pass.
