heaven forbid candidates want to reign in capitalism that has accelerated the wealth gap, eliminated whole classes of jobs, exploits workers and doesn't provide them the same security they once had before raegan unleashed the flutes in the 80's, it's a shame they want to properly tax the excesses, implement stricter environmental protections, curb student debt, and make sure people have access to health care....yea, all of this sounds like socialism :rudy:
Why you one star the thread dumb hoe

phrasing matters.

One of bernie's biggest missteps is clinging to the word socialism knowing its gonna be a hurdle for people to give him 5 minutes of their time.
Lol no it won’t

Trump will bring up socialism against Biden, Harris, Buttigieg, Warren and even Delaney if he was the nominee. The difference is all these candidates will spend time apologizing and begging for everyone to believe they believe in markets. Bernie will go on offense instead.

We're going to get to a point where automation is going to take over so many jobs, that capitalism will be unjustifiable.
:salute:

the naysayers are saying to get to that point of automation we need a capitalistic society that breeds competition to further technological advances

I look at anyone strange when they act like socialism is some new concept for the West. We have been under socialism for ages. What do you think a bailout is? Under capitalism those businesses would have simply been allowed to fall. Instead money is pulled in to keep them afloat. Is that capitalism or socialism?:francis:

Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor, is what we have. Only Bernie is proposing changing this. Warren described herself as "capitalist to the bone."
