They've always operated pretty independently of what's going in hip-hop. There may be ebbs and flows but West Coast fans are on average more loyal, imo.

The west coast has its own ecosystem. Just like Texas. Just like the south. Just like the Midwest. East Coast rap is the only side that fell off.
