Saying that, I have never met someone as "hardcore" militant as some of the posters on this site. This. Online discourse and social media is primarily guided by group think, status, and fear of being ostracized from the community. Much like life offline to a large degree, but I'd argue it's magnified online because people can depart from their social enclaves and create new ones online. Removing incentives to do so would result in less traffic (which is why it would never happen), but a far more honest and less toxic environment.
