This latest fiasco with Charles Oakley has got me asking that question. The Knicks, Nets, Jets, Yankees all have losing records and the Giants imploded in Green Bay.

I don't follow hockey like that but the Islanders getting kicked out of Barclays Center must mean they're trash too.

Now I'm under 30 so obviously some of you brehs might have seen a worse year but the last 365 days have been nothing short of embarrassing. Can anyone come up with a year worse than this in NYC area sports?

I don't think I've ever seen one and don't think this is it. The Giants at least made the playoffs the Yankees have a youth movement the Mets are pretty good which is making their fan bases optimistic and the Rangers are good the only team at MSG worth a damn right now.

But you want fukkery the early 90's was pure fukkery

The Islanders aren't getting kicked out. They were in the Barclays center temporarily while the new Nassau Coliseum (coli!!) is being built..

1995.

Yankees gagged away a 2-0 lead in a 5 game series in the playoffs, to close out Mattingly's career.

Pat Riley humiliated the Knicks with a fax.

Giants went 5-11 and had everything from a terrible draft to their iconic snowball game to Dave Brown against them.

Jets were in the midst of the Kotite era.

Mets weren't any good and saw their Generation K hype tease them, but start going bust.

I don't know anything about hockey, but it looks like the Rangers were mediocre at best, the Islanders were trash, and both had to deal with a lockout shortened season in 1994/1995 when I google.

Why the Islanders getting kicked out?

Brooklyn’s Barclays Center Is Dumping the Islanders

After two years and countless complaints, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center has concluded it’s no longer worth it to host the New York Islanders.

The arena, which is already home to the NBA’s Nets and one of the world’s top-grossing concert venues, would make more money without the National Hockey League team, according to people familiar with the facility’s financials.

Giants and Mets had a good year, with elite players. Yankees have a lot of look forward to with their up and comers, and the Rangers are one of the best teams in Hockey. That's at least four teams doing good.

Knicks have been extremely disappointing though :mjcry:

96 mets, 95 mets gave the fans false hope, 96 it all came crashing down.

The answer to the question is 1992. Mets, yanks, giants, jets, islanders, and all sucked. Rangers, Knicks, devils and nets made the playoffs but only the Rangers had a deep run

:dahell:Yes. Not even close.
The Knicks and Nets are really bad and the Jets were a disappointment... thats about it.

Giants and Mets made the playoffs and are packed with stars. Yanks and Devils are iite and have a roster full of young guns. Islanders are also decent... they werent supposed to stay in the Barclays center permanently anyway its not like they got tossed to the bushes. Rangers are good as hell and fill up MSG nightly. Nets/Rutgers in deep rebuild mode.

Its been way worse. The very early 90s was jokes on jokes in every single sport.
