No I don't care. He's just another man on Earth to me.

The concept of the Pope itself is blasphemous. It's one of the many reasons why I can't take Christians/Catholics seriously.

We had one guy here tell us that Catholics are just as Christian. Him and I discussed it and he knew more than I did.

In Orthodox Christianity, the first Pope was the Apostle Peter (of the 12 disciples). The Pope is the physical stand-in for Christ himself and is the head of the Church (big C not little c). He is part of what is known as the Apostolic Succession (priestly succession in laymen terms). This can be dated back to Holy Week, the Maunday Thursday washing of the feet that Christ performed on his Apostles. Although Pentecost is said to be the birth of the Church, this is the birth of the Papacy.

Oh, and there have been black Popes before, or at the very least Popes from northern Africa.

TL;DR, the is the head of the Church and earthly representation of Christ incarnate.

If you actually want to go in deeper, please PM me. I have studied orthodox theology and Christian apologetics (not what you think it means) for nearly a decade.

However I joined this site for fukkery, and refuse to talk religion unless its 1 on 1.
There has never been a black pope and there never will be. Stop deluding yourself.

There have been 3 African Popes: Victor, Miltiades, and Gelasius.

Out of those 3, Victor was born and raised in what would be modern Tunisia.

Given that Victor lived during the 2nd century, prior to the Muslim conquest of North Africa, during a time where there was a far less prevalent Arabian and European influence on African ethnicity, using common sense we can extrapolate that he would have been the closest thing to a black pope that we've had.

But i'm not going to pretend like any of us can know for sure his exact racial makeup.

After all he has been potrayed as

And as

The truth may lie somewhere inbetween.

Feel free to PM me tomorrow if you want to discuss it more

A Black Pope would be bad for business, lets be honest.

I can imagine the legions of racist catholics all over in the world (especially in Italy and South America) leaving the religion in droves. The church would likely loose billions in revenue...:russ:

Black folk need to get away from even caring about this demonic sect. The fact these cacolics sanctioned slavery makes me have no respect for em...
