it's very likely we have a black pope in our lifetime, not sure why so many are mocking the idea in here
pope francis was somewhat of a surprise, given that he's latino as much as because he's relatively liberal. conservative movements within the church almost definitely will push for more african leadership since that's becoming their ideological base, and the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at Georgetown predicts 230 million catholics in africa by the start of the second quarter of this century

north america's growth is boosted significantly by immigration for catholic countries in the 20th century (mainly italy, followed by poland and portugal), and the growth in asia doesn't even compare to africa's.
the church has always been a political entity, there's a reason they have an elected leader. they'll be smart enough to know who to promote and push for in leadership roles
