I think it was only a top genre for less than 5 years I think 75 is where it picked up and it promptly ended at the start of the 80s. It’s really short compared to almost anything elseDisco started in the early 70's and lasted until the early-80's. 10 years is 'short'?

I don’t think Disco truly died, it just evolved into other dance genres.![]()
I guess.Isn't that true of every genre that "dies"?
I think Reggaeton had like a hot summer when "Gasolina" came out and that was it.![]()

That shyt was fast food music and too early for it's time. It lives on in most dance music tho which took it's place spiritually and in direct lineage plus formula. People just traded disco bands for drum machinesshyt lasted like 3 years and never seen the light of day again.
Blues, Jazz, and Hip hop ain never going nowhere. You can always have them on repeat.![]()
That shyt is just not reggaeton anymore. They are emulating other forms of modern Black music like trapReggaeton is still huge. Bad Bunny is the world's biggest artist and Latin American pop music is 100% reggaeton now
