JoJo vocals were complete TRASH and DeVante looked like he had a liquid meth IV drip. K-Ci was the only decent one on the whole project. There were like 3-4 joints on there but I'm glad no top tier producers/writers wasted material on this project because it would've been pointless. A Jodeci "reunion" album should've been out by 2001 at the latest.

naw, r&b is damn near non existent and 2 other things is this

1. jodeci waited waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long to drop an album and been lost most of their audiences' interest. the og comeback was suppose to be in 01'
2. they came back with an album that won't hittin' at all. i like 2 of the songs on there, "sho out" and "incredible" (i like "every moment" too for the most part) but the album really ain't all that at all. a huge letdown. nowhere up to jodeci's standard and heyday. and when you think about it, it's sad to even hold this album up to standard of today's music even much of today's r&b ain't all that or shyt to begin with

but then again, these brothers been so far gone so damn long it would've taken miracle and motivation and determination from them to actually make this project work and i just think they so far gone from the music that it was only wishful thinkin' from the start for this project

jodeci left the buildin' in 95' and never returned :mjcry:

Devantie could have literally picked up where Prince left off for a minute. That's how sharp this cat was.. But he let his demons and drugs take him out :mjcry:

he was sharp but NOT THAT sharp (like prince)

and i say that as a fan of devante too. i'm a huge fan of his work from 91' to 95' but nothin' in those 4 years of music that he wrote/produced/arranged compares to prince's work of the 80's and lord knows i love jodeci's music but this is PRINCE we talkin' bout. the 90's is where prince got sketchy (really by the time lovesexy dropped in 88', that was his first hiccup but he still came through with that batman soundtrack a year later) but even with prince's misses in the 90's, talent wise he's on another whole plateau than devante. i don't even feel right usin' there names in the same sentence other then to say i know devante is a huge fan of his

Devante wanted Prince to take him under his wing and Prince just brushed him off like a lil nikka.. But the influence was clearly there in Devantes style

yup, they been soundin' awful for so long now too. i'm actually surprise they even put out an album even though i know they got tons of songs stashed away from years ago but the fact that they were all able to get themselves back together in some capacity to record is actually impressive because these nikkas been gettin' high for so long i thought it'd be impossible to get them to stay in a studio long enough to finish an album

like i said and as you've just said, 2001 when the 1st comeback was suppose to take place would've been ideal but remember how far gone they were even THEN when they came to the 1st bet awards in 2001

I was pretty hyped about it before it dropped just based off of nostalgia. shyt, I was just happy they got back together.
But JoJo's voice was shot & I think DeVante only did a few tracks.
Past their prime, sure. ... but it just didn't sound like a Jodeci project

Jeez. They looked barely salvageable even in fukkin 2001. Devante took the biggest nose dive and that shyt started while they were still poppin. All of these dudes are fukkin washed now. Insane that of all of these R&B groups from that era, only Sisqo looks close to his old self regardless of the personality. And speaking of, Sisqo was on FIRE in 2000 with this first album and never even got close back to that. It's like Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas. She put out her album, it was a smash but it's like if she put anything out now, no one would give a fukk. How does something like that happen to non 1-hit wonder artists?

yup, by 2001 they were already burnt out as a group, even though k-ci and jojo were still havin' success but the very next year they recorded their what would be their last album up until 2013

but you right, devante did take the biggest nose dive and he damn near disappeared after their run for their "the show, the hotel, the afterparty" album; shyt, check out this performance and how he ain't even there (i feel like devante went missin' after 95' because after that album was done, he was hardly ever seen from like 96' to 00')

shyt, he won't even in the "get on up" video either; though i've heard them say he didn't even like that song at 1st :mindblown: lol

i can't believe devante, somone who had some of all the talent in the world and allowed himself to just fall to the waste side like that; just drinkin' and gettin' high for years and years?! really, nikka :why:

yeah, sisqo has probably just taken care of himself and he don't seem like the "gettin' high" type at all so that's why he been able to suffice alright

far as sisqo's solo career goes, i wish he would've given us more songs like this. this song is a classic in my book

1 other group that still got their shyt together and still look the same is mint condition. those guys still sound good live too. they don't get enough props either

good observation of sisqo with the 1 shot album and then poof, never again to be repeated like you said with fergie. i've noticed that too and been sayin' the same thing

fergie went through it
gwen stefani had her year (even though she did 2 solo albums, but that hollaback girl year, 04' i think it was, was her solo "it" year)
nelly furtado had 1 year with 1 big album, timbaland produced the hell outta that shyt too
katy perry same ordeal

its on an independent label!!!! the only albums getting hype are the albums on the big majors by the same ole people that the industry wants to gas up. its that simple yall. I cant believe people are typing paragraphs and this went 3 pages. hype has nothing to do with what the people want.

as for me personally, I never got around to it and honestly, jodeci never put out a real classic album in their prime, so why am I in a rush for their album 20 years later? I was moreso in a rush to hear the singles. theyre GOAT at that, and they delivered with the video they dropped for this album. great stuff. but I wasn't checking for the entire album like that.
