No there’s confirmed black posters responding to this; I like nature walks, in the mountains, river walks. being outside; it’s relaxing and different taking a time out from the city at times. Especially if you have kids - introduce them to excursions and nature. BUT what’s interesting in this thread is the one poster that’s doing too much in making fun of actual black posters for having interests in outdoor activities.Notice the poster that’s trying to shame posters and being unnecessarily real extra with the insults at black posters for having experiences in hiking, camping, etc. white people tend to go overboard with the stereotypical depictions like that poster has. You see it.

For some of you all that think that camping isn’t black, we have historic black summer camps that have been around for years that black families have been sending their kids for generations.

Don’t let them generalize or trivialize your interests or get on that “what black people don’t do” . White people tend to put us into this one box and stereotype us more than we do to ourselves. That’s why they get so vocal and act out when they see us engage in positive discourse or engagements. Like black people can’t be multi-faceted. Racial stereotypes and parroting patterns exposes their type of mentality.

Most of what people call camping is basically going to stay in a cabin or a mobile home in a park. I went tent camping just overnight last year. It was kind of fun, but would be more fun if you were in a remote place on a road trip. It's not something "fun" to just drive to a place and camp overnight.

Thing is like everything in America once it becomes niche entertainment it becomes "premium-ized" and expensive.

Everyone should try it once just to get a feel for life without beign surrounded by all your normal conforms. Tells you a lot about what's really important to you.

We’re not camping out in uncharted territory of Montana or Alaska where wild animals are roaming free. Usually public camping sites are sponsored or government funded; they are surveyed, tracked and monitored for dangers or wild life sightings. At least, they’ll be warnings or prohibited areas of you’re a novice camper or climber. But every year, there’s some dumbass who is on some thrill chaser ish or doesn’t heed the warnings making it bad for everybody; going missing or drowning becoming a national headline making it seem like that people get attacked all the time. I wouldn’t go nowhere alone or isolated at night though, that’s safety. Start off small like a local natl park for the day or rent out a fully equipped cabin. Waterfalls, scenic mountains are beautiful.

If you never went before; don’t head out into a random forest either with no trails, signs or guides
