When I was 19 I applied for that same job. Their criteria was "come shadow for an hour" because they didnt want to waste the time hiring and training someone. :youngsabo:

I shadowed for like 15 minutes and was like, "nope, fukk that sh!t, I'm gonna use my brain to make money". The most back breaking work I've ever seen.

Yes. It was an easy gig, but if you go through what I did:mjcry:They gonna send you home quite a few times before you get hours.

UPS and the union goes hand-in-hand, and before some bytch complains about the union, it has a very good purpose.

You basically deal with the seniority issue for a while...was like 3 days for me...and then they let you work. Before that they sending you home if

no one lets you in. Turnover is a bytch though so you WILL get your turn, and you WILL be paying union dues, but guess what?

Whenever your higher ups have a problem with you, a union rep will swing by and give that Motumbo defense:letyasoulglow:

Disciplinary write up? Union rep

:mjpls:"Don't sign that." And the people can't do shyt about it. Not to mention UPS is very "Come back anytime" friendly. If you need to leave for any reason, you can

bet your ass when times get hard they will take you back. The pay is ass compared to Fedex, and you have mandatory years to put in before you even see any cake like you

would as a driver, but if your options suck...4 years later you can be an 80K mothafukka and the only thing you had to do was load packages:myman:

Breh, ups drivers make baaaaaaank in addition to the treasure trove of benefits from medical to stock options, to the "secret portal" website with thousands of vendors and thousands of discounts.

I mean you fukk around and find 80% off six flags season passes, free shipping and free rush orders, hotel discounts, etc. If a breh like me stuck around another Two years, I could have been 24 making 80k with no education. The raises too:letyasoulglow:

For real, anyone who can put up with the sweltering heat and bitter cold for 4 years is SET if they can pass the tests. I dont like driving so ups was a means to an end, but the option is there to hit near 100k within 8 years with the company.

Yup. Its best to do that package handling shyt as a supplemental job to a real one, or at least another PT job...but if folks like you and you ask them questions, anybody of sound body and mind
can take that route to good money and PENSIONS! A fukking rarity nowadays. UPS>>>>>>>>>>>> most places if you can simply put in the time. Cannot stress that enough.

I got injured offsite just before a shift years ago. They sent me home. I came back the next day with an ankle brace ready to work. They sent me home. I filled out papers and they paid me a lil stipend while I was out, and covered my medical anyway. I really can't say a fukking bad thing about the company. Did I mention the injury was offsite? How many companies take care of you for that kinda shyt???? :francis:

I've been think about applying for a part-time job with them. FedEx wants to know every single detail of your life for the past 8 or so years. :camby:
