Ready to break your back? Literally........I ran into a dude that messed up his back so bad working for FedEx that he can't stand up and work for 4 straight hours anymore. If you are willing to do hard work and know how to lift heavy boxes (using your legs) and items for at least 8-12 hours out of the day, then do you. If not, stay far away.

not a hard job, a lot of people just lazy or out of shape. You can do it if you want to do it. It is a part time job but they have tons of advancement opportunities into way better paying jobs. Just have to be motivated you to do something and be a good employee.

Yup, did 4 years at the brown. It was a cool lil job for a while but everybody wants to be a boss up in there. The pay is horrible when you first start and you'll be sent home really early a lot of days.

Ideally you'll want to work the twilight sort because that's where the most hours are. Sundays also give a alot of hours but be ready to clear that schedule for the whole day.

The benefits are nice as hell and the vacation time is godly.had damn near a whole month of vacation before a left, plus a few weeks worth of sick time. All paid.

Moving up ain't hard if you're on your shyt but be prepared to lose your benefits, have your pay started over, and become non union.

DO NOT fukk WITH THE FEMALES IN THAT JOINT. It's a lot of women in there that have some of the phattest asses you'll ever see walking around but by god, please don't do it unless it's out side of work. You will get wrote up for sexual harassment fast and fired.

If you're ever sick, bring a doctor's note every single time so they can't use anything against you or make you sign shyt. Never sign anything that's a write up.

Get you some good steel toe boots and if you working that night sort, dress real warm breh. Them cold trailers ain't no joke.

Don't let any of the people whose been there for a little while boss you around and don't let them make you lift anything that's heavy and dangerous by yourself. fukk all the macho man "oh you should be able to lift that" bullshyt, don't mess your body up because they don't give a damn if you injure yourself or not.

The moment you hurt yourself tell them, show them where it happened, and exactly how it happened. If they start bytchin about not wanting to send you to a doctor then you go see your own doctor. Thas what they don't want you to do.

If I think of anything else I'll drop it but otherwise just do you work and get through your shift. They let you listen to music so that's cool and the moment something better comes along, write a letter to your manager leave on good terms. They'll always tell you to come back if you need to.

My brother, @ADK , for 2 years I was employed at the United Parcel Service or UPS. Indeed, it is hard labor. For 6-7 hours a day, I unloaded thy trucks. For 6-7 hours a day, I loaded thy delivery trucks. Great medical and dental benefits. I was fortunate to start off at 9$ an hour and the good Lord blessed me to see my pay increase to 11.50 by the time I left.

If ye doeth choose this job, I recommend working the graveyard shift, 2 am - 8 am. Ye may have the rest of the morning and day all to thyself if able to be employed at these hours. Heed my warning, my friend, the peak season tis no easy labor. Holiday seasons hath broken many a man before thine eyes for the work thereof that shall come from this peak season is unlike any animal ye hath ever faced in thy lifetime. 8 or 10, 18 wheeled trucks ye will have to unload. Packed to the roof are they. Yet, I was able to endure, and my body benefited greatly from the daily workout. Tis a mans job. I pray ye find encouragement in my words.

Yeah, I have a breh who's been working there since he got out of high school 16 Years ago. Once he got past the bullshyt and the seniority/unions got on his side, :eat:

It's not for everyone but he found his niche. He did the driver thing too for a little bit but realized he wasn't about that life .

Worked at UPS from 2006-2010. Worst fukking company I've ever worked for.

High turnover. Most people working in the Preload last maybe 3 to 6 months on average.

Very few opportunities for advance. You have to work therefor YEARS to even be considered for a full time position. Even if you join the union you have to jump through hoops to even be considered of promotion.

Benefits aren't good anymore. When I started there 10 years ago, part-timers got benefits after 6 months; I think it's maybe 12-18 months now for benefits.

Supervisors and management were incompetent micromanaging a$$holes. They preach working safely but in reality they stand behind you and yell at you to work faster which is a greater risk of an injury. UPS values their production numbers (how many pieces they can move out) than they safety of their workers and the condition of the packages.

Everything's based on seniority which sucks starting out because they'll try to send you home early. Even when you're there for a year or 2 they still try to do this shyt. Sometimes, it made more sense to call in and use a a sick day than to come in to work.

If you choose to work for UPS. Make sure you have another job or going to school. And if you're in school, don't do that "I'm take a semester off" shyt.
STAY IN SCHOOL! I learned that lesson the hard way :mjcry:

There's no shame in this at all, just as long as it's not the long term goal. I applied for Ups AND the USPS awhile back:ehh:. We all gotta start somewhere
