You said they were swindled by Woodrow Wilson. Wilson never swindled them, he was a staunch segregationist and vowed to never have another black person in the White House after BTW met with TRoosevelt.

they advocated for blacks to see combat in WWI and stop being relegated to menial roles. Also when immigration stopped because of the war, they helped get black people on in the factories and in essence helped spur the great migration.
In 1912 the civil rights activist W.E.B. DuBois endorsed Democratic candidate Woodrow Wilson for President and asked black voters to get behind Wilson’s candidacy. Wilson signaled that he would be a different kind of Democrat for blacks.

Source Time Magazine

Wilson used certain members of the Boule in the North to get elected and once He got elected, gave them his ass to kiss.

That was in part because Taft refused to give blacks federal jobs, and Taft endorsed BTWs industrial education model over DuBois’ model so of course DuBois would politically oppose his enemy’s political choice

Roosevelt also ran a strong third party candidacy that year

Firstly, :mjlol:at calling an elitist, hierarchical, capitalist organization like the Boule "Marxists"

Secondly: Wistfully pine for the days of Jim Crow, brehs...:francis:

Republicans have been openly anti Black since Reconstruction. Read about the lilywhite movement. I understand the Booker T Washington school of economic empowerment as opposed to agitation, but citing a fukking Breitbart writer (Sonnie Johnson) as your source is some serious :mjpls:shyt.

I listed two sources, and you only criticized one.

:comeon:

I listed sources with the caveat to ignore the messengers and just research the content. And yet you still couldn't help yourself.

:martin:

It's so hard to discuss anything on here without ad hominem attacks. I hate The Root and Breitbart as publications personally. That doesn't mean I'm going to dismiss historical facts that can be verified by independent sources.

Breh...Cool that's understandable..

But how does that make what I said in my original post untrue?

Wilson finessed the Black elite to get votes and then pulled his mask off and went full white supremicist

https://blackthen.com/after-promisi...ck-vote-heres-what-woodrow-wilson-really-did/

In 1912 Woodrow Wilson, the Democratic candidate for president, promised fairness and justice for blacks if elected. In a letter to a black church official, Wilson wrote, “Should I become President of the United States they may count upon me for absolute fair dealing for everything by which I could assist in advancing their interests of the race.”

African Americans had strongly supported Wilson for President.

At one point, he released a statement to the National Colored Democratic League assuring the members that he opposed “unfair discriminating laws against any class or race” and believed “that the qualifications for voting should be the same for all men.” He added:

I want to assure them through you that should I become President of the United States, they may count upon me for absolute fair dealing and for everything by which I could assist in advancing the interests of their race in the United States.

But after the election, Wilson changed his tune. He dismissed 15 out of 17 black supervisors who had been previously appointed to federal jobs and replaced them with whites. He also refused to appoint black ambassadors to Haiti and Santa Domingo, posts traditionally awarded to African Americans. Two of Wilson’s cabinet ministers, Postmaster General Albert Burelson and Treasury Secretary William McAdoo, both Southerners, issued orders segregating their departments. Throughout the country, blacks were segregated or dismissed from federal positions. In Georgia, the head of the Internal Revenue Division fired all black employees: “There are no government positions for Negroes in the South. A Negro’s place in the corn field.” He said. The President’s wife, Ellen Wilson, was said to have had a hand in segregating employees in Washington, encouraging department chiefs to assign blacks separate working, eating, and toilet facilities. To justify segregation, officials publicized complaints by white women, who were thought to be threatened by black men’s sexuality and disease.

There are plenty of black conservatives that aren't alt right adjacent. Asking someone to ignore a source as blatantly biased as these two is disingenuous, and you inow it.

Anti HBCU rhetoric....on a black message board.:patrice:

The coli is full of agents and clowns

1- For the 100th time This isn't a Black message board. Blackness is not synonymous with Hip Hop and Sports

2- Me and my wife both graduated from HBCU's and my daughter is enrolling in one next year. That doesn't mean that some of the earlier founders and current leaders are above reproach.

This board was sounding real "Anti HBCU" when all the school presidents were in Trump's Oval office kissing the ring two years ago.. Black folks get finessed and used sometimes. It happens.

After Promising Fairness & Justice For The Black Vote, Here's What Woodrow Wilson Really Did

In 1912 Woodrow Wilson, the Democratic candidate for president, promised fairness and justice for blacks if elected. It’s not much of a swindle when you literally have shyt for other options. I see that as more of pandering than swindling- he won the election by carrying 40 states, and the black vote was nowhere near as important as it is now. And a fair deal to an ardent segregationist means “I’ll let you live”. Fair does not mean equal in their eyes.

Same guy who celebrated DW Griffith and showed the birth of a nation in the White House and saw the second rising of the KKK under his presidency.

Hell, the 1912 populations of places up north where black votes could be cast were small to non-existent. Detroit, Chicago, nyc, and Boston all had black populations of only around 10% of the total population. The black southern vote was disenfranchised and the populist movement was ending.

I think all white folks are "Alt Right Adjacent".. I don't lose much sleep parsing the "good ones from the bad ones"

:mjlol:

At the end of the day, facts are facts..

If David Duke said "Kareem Abdul Jabbar is the all time leading scorer in NBA history". Is that no longer true?

Verify the information from whatever source makes you feel comfortable..

I don't know what else to tell you. If the facts are wrong, I'll stand corrected..

They have been linking black success with Marxism and communism for the longest. It’s an obvious dog-whistle that insinuates that black people cant be successful without a white man or a white mans political or economic philosophy

Or it’s because capitalism has been the powerful weapon of white supremacy.

Or it’s because Russians and commies were supportive of civil rights as a way to poke America in the eye.

Now this I agree with..You're right. Which is why I no longer subscribe to "The lesser of two evils" as a political strategy. Because we rarely learn who really is the most evil until they already have obtained power (ie the Clinton/Biden Crime Bill).

You want to argue semantics on whether the Black elite were swindled or pandered to than fine. But the bottom line is they helped get a candidate elected that hurt us tremendously for generations to come.

One more thing. To me the Black elite is more about education and academic indoctrination than actual wealth.

You can be a small business owner of a landscaping company and worth half a million dollars. But some members of the Boule with $500 in the bank may look down on you because of their education and connection to exclusive clubs.

Which is why a HS dropout like Jay Z isn’t defined as an “elite” even though he’s independently richer than almost all of them.

They will take his money, but still look at him as the ignorant hood nikka from Marcy that made Big Pimpin.

My mom is Boule and my Dad was working class. Same with my grandmother and grand daddy. I’ve seen the dynamic play out my whole life.
