Growing up mom told me never go through Cairo Illinois because they have klan rally’s

At the time me and my girl were going to New Orleans for a couple job interviews, from Atl, man the navigation had us on this two lane road, it seemed like a sundown area and the weather was getting bad, i was doing 80 plus to get us up out of there ASAP

I've driven thru there a million times when taking road trips down south on I57, and its well known u do NOT speed thru there cuz they are waiting to pop u off right before you cross the mississippi river.

They might still have it but there was a billboard that said "Don't let the sun set on you" and i think it was above a pawn shop that has a huge confederate flag painted on its brick wall.

so growing up my grandparents lived in that city so my brother along with our cousins would spend summers there at least until I started working for the govt.... I can remember one Summer my grandpops spending a couple weeks laying down cement so we could play ball ... if you know Florida most of the ground is sand damn near a beach... anyway a month later a few houses down lived some cacs who had put their court up and the backboard was a confederate flag....

Went to a Halloween party with some friends there. cacs blocked off the street so we couldn't leave. One of them sat on?my homie's car and we doing like 50-60 tryma get his ass off. he gets off and now we got a big ass redneck truck chasing us



we were tryna shake em but them boys had a demon in that engine. they rammed into the back of us and made my homie's trunk pop open.



We were able to meet up wit police and they had us out there for bout 2-3 hours while the cacs was driving up and down looking. we kept telling the cops it was them but they was like "yall know yall shouldnt be out here" making it seem like it was our fault.


its well known(didn't know till after the fact cuz i was a transplant from Brooklyn) that they had KKK rallys in the woods out there and they even used to leave pamphlets on people's driveways
