Yes and I got it too. I had applied for so many positions so I was clueless to which one she was calling about. I got all the pertinent info for/ time of the job interview, walked in there confident and nailed it.

Just be honest. Say that you had applied for many positions that seemed to be in line with your expertise and ask the HR person calling to refresh your memory. They won't take it personally, believe me.

Better than playing along and then not knowing what the fukk it is when you're in an interview.

I've never had a company be brazen enough to even try this, but if they did I'd simply let them know it wasn't a good time and schedule another time for them to call.

"I'm on my way to a meeting, what's a better time on ____ or ____ that works with your schedule?"

"Hey, shoot me a calendar invite so our schedules are aligned."

If you're really necessary. Let them leave a message, gather yourself and call back. Real jobs (that require specific/higher skills and education) know you might be at another job or interview and have stuff going on and may not be able to answer right at that moment. Low end jobs don't seem to have a problem leaving a message. Now those middle level jobs where 1000000 people have applied and 3000000 people are qualified, answer the phone, they might not even leave a message.
