Have you ever bought a game you didn't realize you already owned?

I was looking to get into these games called Utawarerumono and after hearing the games were delisted and unavailable on PSN I bought them on Steam. Looked through my PSN library of games after getting that 1TB HD for the PS5 and they're there already. Turns out I bought them back in 2018 on sale 2 for $27 well before they were delisted. I'm just gonna let the Steam purchase ride to support the developer.

I also bought Witcher III on Xbox One and found out later after I beat it that I already owned it on both PC and PS4.

i bought Rebel Galaxy on steam, only to realize I got it for free on PS4 many months earlier

I own two hundred games and that's just physical. Too difficult to remember them all.

When I gained a level of income to not need to trade games in or sell them anymore to afford new ones I stopped and just kept everything I bought.

If you only game on one platform that would save you but having to cross-reference Steam, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo to see if you already own a game complicates that. Steam gamers are especially notorious for buying games on Steam sales they ultimately never play.
