i never got a mixtape that was really fire, most of the time it was trash either the rapper was off beat, terrible beats, couldn't rap, or they could rap but the beats were terrible. how about you nikkas man did you ever get a good tape at all ?
I never actually listened to one. I feel like its the wrong marketing tool now. Its been done so many times, its not original.
Its usually during an event or when major entertainers are here. Essence Fest, any major concert, etc. For Bayou Classic, i saw so many mixtapes just being walked over. I know those artists were mad at the money they wasted.where do nikkas hand out mixtapes in NOLA ?

ETA: Its usually in the quarters, which is tourist city.
were they selling it or giving it out for free ? usually giving it out for free makes me and sometimes others assume that the artist wants to get a buzz and i will support.
they were obviously passing them out. I doubt people would throw that shyt away if they spent money on it. It would've been a coaster at least, if money was spent.
