Knew a few but I wouldn't say they were socially awkward or I didn't get the impression that they were. Met a few in NY. I had a quiet friend in middle school, the superintendent of the building we lived in Brooklyn was Jamaican and a pretty calm breh, and I had a serious Jamaican principle at the academy I attended when I was in Haiti.
