King Solomon was given a special ability as a blessing from God. The rest of us are at a disadvantage from a biological perspective since we can't even see them. Thinking that you can "control" them is an illusion. In reality, you end up serving them if you try to engage with them. It's forbidden in Islam to call on them.

Demons are weak in their essence and can't harm you unless you allow it by submitting to them. If you submit to God, they can't touch you.
