Haven't seen anyone die, and don't really want to but I think I need to. It's one of those things were it will mess up your psyche but in a good way. Start to realize anything can happen, at anytime and let go of dumb things like grudges. That being said, I've been close to seeing two deaths.

1) Was a junior in hs playing ball for the school. It was in novemeber so fall leagues were ending since the season was starting. Couldn't drive then was only 15, decided to take the bus home. Got to the crib around 5pm. My pops had gotten laid off so i figured he'd be home and his car was there. I got home and there's a bunch of groceries laying on the counter and food looking like it was prepared to be eaten sitting out cold. I look around, no pops in siht. Got a really weird feeling. I turned on the TV and fixed a plate put it in the microwave and my moms gets home, acting all weird. She started asking me why I wasn't at practice, and did I eat. Then she told me my pops had a aorta tear/anyeurism in his heart that exploded. She had gotten home like an hr before. She had taken off for the day, and got back from groccercies when she got back my pops was on the couch just sitting there telling her he couldn't move. She carried him to the car and got him to the hospital. Had i have had practice and my moms had been at work he woulda died for sure.

2) My pops survived that first incident but then 6 months later, I got word in school he was feeling terrible (had open heart surgery), they ended up telling him their complications from the surgery they need to fix and they needed to fly him to Houston to take care of the procedure. This part gives me chills to this day, he cried and told them don't let them open his chest up again, said he'd rather die than go through that again. We get to houston and we walk in a peaceful room. I see my pops for the last time alive. They prep him for surgery and while he's getting carried away he says, i love you and my mom says "Goodbye (dad's name)" out of nowhere. It was weird af. He died during surgery and I saw him laying their lifeless after the news was broken to us.

3) My coworker was real unstable. Had some kind of personality disorder/bipolar. Dude was a cool cat, with a messed up childhood and no family left. Just got out the navy and was trying to start over. He would flip out all the time. To the point were he'd feel useless and extreme depression would hit him out of nowhere and he'd have to go home for the day. I remember telling him the week before he died , "Bro, I understand you have problems but you gotta live a lil man. Don't be so hard on yourself, you're gonna look back one day and realize life is over... blah blah blah". He offered me to smoke with him that night, he had no friends, and I basically told him we should but ducked and dodged actually smoking with him. He just needed a friend. Bout 3 days later, we leave work at 5am to go home, he's a few cars ahead of me by about 100 yards at the stoplight right outside of the office. All of a drunk driver in a black expedition going like 60 mph comes out of nowhere and slams into the back of his car crushing him instantly. I couldn't look but my coworker on a motorcycle went to see if he can help and saw him take his last breaths while his body had basically been infused with his dashboard from the impact.
