The point of the movie was that she was self-centered, heartless, and a terrible person. She didn't realize what she wanted until the end, but it didn't make her any less selfish. It's why she lost everything.

Women like the idea of a sexually powerful beautiful women that takes what she wants from men because for so long history was the opposite, where women had no power and willfulness didn't help them.

c00ning in that movie makes it hard to watch.
