I'm at my most excited during the draft.

The actual games seem to let me down 9 times outta 10

I feel the same way about the NBA, also.

Might get excited during the Finals, but that's it.

It's like the NBA is so formulaic right now.Everybody tries to play using a cheat code.

3 pointers, stretch 4's, analytics....

Can't knock em for figuring it out, but it's growing old quick.

Not completely; its more of a split between loss of interest and disgust at the 'cism and the craven greed and consumerism

I will say that I think the on field quality has declined too IMO; too many garbage teams, shirty defenses and bad refereeing

Nah real fans take a hiatus from there team...

This is true.

I've been a Suns fan since '93

Took a 3 year break between '01-'04

My interest level went from fanatic to mild.

The only thing that reels me back in is a youth movement.

When we got Amare, Joe Johnson, and Matrix

I was excited to see what they could grow into.

Booker, Josh Jackson, Marquse Chriss..etc...etc

Only thing stopping me from taking another hiatus right now

Dont make you less of a fan lol...If you spent money on tickets or bought team apparel you a real fan....This notion you need to watch every down or quarter is stupid,if you grown and dont work for the team you dont have time for that...

The nfls problem is if you live in a certain area you might only get crappy teams to watch week after week

I didnt watch any games sunday except for a few mins of cowboys and none last nite.

I have other things to do and don't really miss watching the NFL. I didn't watch one second of Week 1 and I don't care.

Yeah I'm done. Not watching anything unless I'm at a Super Bowl party :manny:

Boxing and NBA is where my attention goes
We've been able to watch some pretty good fights over the past year or so, almost on a weekly basis. There's either a competitive fight, or a superstar headlining an event.

We're not being held hostage for decent fights like before.

"Boxing is dead" is an overly exaggerated statement.....mainly used by cac ass MMA fans

Yep - sadly the NFL makes billions from Directv every year for the Sunday Ticket deal. Just like the other leagues make so much money from their TV deals with networks showing the best games, leaving you needing the special package to get out of market games.

But really there needs to be better accessibility to out of market games. I haven't seen the data but I'm sure there is more mobility in general among Americans today - more and more people do not just settle down and stay in the market where their favorite teams play. We're all looking for access to the games, and many would rather just gather in a bar (or not watch at all) than pay for the package at home. I can't imagine that helps ratings.

I don't know what the solution is but I do think the Ticket is just too expensive for most people to justify the expense. If they keep continuing the agreement, then I guess they think it's a good deal for them, but it's hard for me to imagine DirecTV makes money off this. They pay the NFL $1.5 billion per year for the exclusivity of NFLST. No way they're getting that back in straight revenue from people paying for the package, so they must think the there is incremental value of the overall DTV subscriptions for those people who would otherwise choose cable (or nothing at all) if not for ST. Yes, the boost in revenue to the league keeps the salary cap high and players' salaries high which is good for the game overall. But at some point you have an accessibility problem with the average fan. You have to find the right equilibrium.
