There are tons of people who are younger who don't have Biggie and Pac in their top 5?

Obviously someone who is say 30-45 are going to say that.

17 year olds right now are not playing 'Dear Mama' :yeshrug:

Thats because they are being fed bullshyt rap. To them there is no content or meaning behind lyrics. Is just a bunch of shoot em up, get money, fukk girls, and do molly all ehile rapping over a basic ass beat and horrible flow

I actually understand what he was saying about both this and the Cole, Kendrick statement.

Biggie was a better rapper but Pac made 68983268990 songs a day so his catalog has to be better based on sheer numbers. That said, I still play a little of both. RIP to some solid rappers.

No breh, it's because they are teenagers who are worried about partying / girls / fun. They are not worried about deep topics.

I remember when we were told gangsta rap was stupid and they weren't saying anything but bullshyt with no positive message being behind the lyrics. It was just shoot em up, get money, fukk girls, smoke weed, and do molly. Are we going to pretend Dre's 2001 didn't have tons of mentions of E use all over it?

Bboystylez my man, you are like two steps away from yelling at kids to get off your lawn.

nah breh. At least those gangsta rap songs had dope and smooth west coast beats. Hell even the east had that dope gritty sound. Todays rap is garbage beat and lyrics wise

I think his issue has more to do with Hip-Hop arguably getting worse instead of better. He explained it terribly, though.

But it's all subjective. Just like anything.

If the logic is they have been gone for too long and had a short span, ok but by the same token look at other genres like Rock and artists in the 27 club that people still list very high or at the top of all time lists ike Kurt Cobain/Nirvana who had 3 years of mainstream so its possible

criticize snoop for having ghostwriters later in his career, then turn around and give props to Kanye right afterwards brehs.

other than that, I agree with some of his statements but not necessarily his reasoning......or maybe I would agree with his reasoning if he thought everything out before he spoke on it.

the way hip-hop disregards history, the generic big/pac/jay/nas should be relic names by now that should be brushed aside like the legends that came before them.

i definitely agree about Kendrick & cole. and while I do agree that theyre not legit stars, that should've been his secondary point.
the fact that these guys & drake and these other plant names are still being forced in as faces for this generation is laughable. none of them crack my top 100, let alone top 10.

When someone 20 years later tries to be "Different" with their opinion just to try to gain clout, you lost already. You proving why they're the GOATS, because you still TALKING ABOUT THEM. Big and Pac were just THAT GOOD! Could whip out a classic in their sleep. They couldn't make a WACK project. So to rebuttal your point, name me an artist of today that can do the club song while at the same time go to the next track and HIT YOU HARD IN THE FEELS?? Or be political? HELL pac did it in the same song with "How do you want it" lmao, was in the clubs educating the youth with "Bill clinton mr bob dole, you too old to understand..." while some of yalls parents were bumpin n grinding to that. GOAT STATUS right there! Throw the whole video away breh, J cole comes close to this generation and even then he struggles to connect sometimes. :yeshrug:

Lyrics wise I think it's been dumbed down but as far as deep concepts, we didn't always have them in mainstream Hip Hop either.

Beat wise I have to disagree with you to some extent. Some of these guys are real creative and not just looping a sample of an already popular song.
