Sometimes, people forget. I almost forgot to renew my license once (it wasn't on my mind, at all), but someone from the DMV sent me a reminder in an email like 2-3 days before my license were to expire. If it hadn't been for that letter, my shyt would've expired and I wouldn't even have known it.
