I get where your coming from, but I still wouldn't tell somebody "You're supposed to have low self confidence, until you've acquired the necessary skills".
Because what's the incentive for them to even try and become competent? I think it was the title that got me

The incentive is to increase their competence so that confidence will naturally follow. It's a tangible, practical approach. Instead of focusing on the negative feeling of having no confidence, focus on becoming competent in whatever area you lack confidence in. Attack your problem head on instead of just focusing on the symptom (the emotion).

I think you’re undervaluing how blind confidence often times leads to competence. You have to believe you can do some shyt to even work up the energy to learn how to do it effectively through trial and error. A lack of confidence usually leads to somebody punting on 1st and 10.
