I worked for at&t during all this, charging per text became obsolete prior to those apps and iMessage becoming popular.

With the switch from 2g to 3g that brought along wireless data, so that became the new “cool thing” to nickel and dime. Anytime you opened a webpage on your LG Chocolate or downloaded a song on your Motorola Razor, you were being charged by the kilobyte (:mjlol:).

Free messaging became an incentive to bring you in, and it was much easier to maintain that high volume on 3g

I worked Customer Service at Verizon. This old man (60) comes into pay his daughters(35) cell phone bill

She fukked around ordered a bunch of ringtones and music. Bill was close to 1300.

Old man was heated. I used to get a kick out of situations like that. Seen people throw shyt, scream, and talk shyt once they leave the store

The good thing, you can make notes on their account, and ban them from the store.

Verizon, Sprint, Nextel , ATT. They were all eating REALLY good before unlimited data and calls came around
