The BTS looking assassin chick got some serious martial arts skill

Edit- I'll be damned that was Michelle Waterston

I met her too

Yeah, it was cool seeing her in this and she was a highlight of the film.

In terms of action or story, it didn't blow me away but did have some nice shootouts, especially in the club and cabin. Would have liked a few more creative sequences, only because the bar for Gareth Evans is so high after the Raid films. Although this is very much gun focused compared to martial arts combat.

Cool seeing Jesse Mei Li from Shadow and Bone and Lale from Gangs of London pop up as well.

. . . 6.5/10 . . . . the city looks like an AI combo of NYC... Chicago . .. Detroit . and SF. . . .. the accents of the characters are all over the place . .. guns have unlimited ammo . . . . takes 30 minutes to get the story moving . . .. . Timo took the crown for this genre . . .. . Gareth needs to fall-back and work with Thomas Jane on his Neeson retirement run . .. . . .

This was an easy 3/5 for me. I think it’s the weakest entry from Evans, yet he still does enough to scratch my action itch here. He had them Woo-isms shining through with most of the gun-fu and they were SPRAYIN’ in this. Infinite ammo, lmao. The club and cabin sequences were some insanely stupid fun. :russ:

Oddly enough, I thought the shaky CGI worked for this because the world portrayed felt as if Matt Reeves’ Gotham had a baby with Night City.

The chaotic gunplay was very Max Payne coded. John Moore and Marky Mark could never.

This was a dope flick. Not for the cinema, but definitely great for Netflix. Apparently they had already filmed this four years ago.

I love GE's unique kinetic violence which is like poetry. I wish he could have continued filming Gangs of London which fell the fukk off badly.

I'm saying. Mindless action and violence. That's what it accomplished and I was satisfied. shyt aint that deep like others in here making it out to be.

I think the only thing people can be critical of is maybe they expected because it was The Raid director a different level of action film. Dude set an Illmatic level of expectations for every action movie he does

That movie was exactly what it needed to be I got zero complaints it did its job

Action was alright. The cgi city made feel like I was watching a Max Payne 4 cutscene.

I don't understand how the Triads thought those 2 were responsible for everything. That's probably my biggest complaint. The other is dude is too good to be doing much shaky cam.

I agree the Mitchell Waterson fight in the cabin was the highlight. Evans made it believable for a 120lb girl to kick Bane's ass.

yeah I found this mediocre. and yeah, the CGI used to create the city was kinda jarring.
