To me he is the best PF in the NBA. All around game. Great defender. Elite PnR PF. The best movement PF since Karl Malone. Extremely efficient. He can't create his own shot but if we just had a PnR PG as we finally got with the gawd Devin Harris we can PnR teams to death and get 20-25ppg with Al.

Smoove is good. Great help-side defender, extremely versatile, smart on defense but on offense he plays too his weaknesses too much and he is a poor decision maker. I think Smoove is a boarder-line All Star player and we need him if we are going to start Lou Williams. I really don't like starting Lou either. I rather him off the bench but I don't like starting Teague either because he isn't a real PG and he's a poor poor man's :russ: . You can't start those type of PG's unless they freakish players like :deadrose: or :russ: . I guess what I am trying to say is I rather not start anyone other than Devin Harris at point and I don't like the options at SG. I like Jenkins a lot but he is more for 2013-14 than this upcoming season. I don't like our options are SF either. Morrow, Korver, Stevenson don't impress me much. All of them are too one dimensional. Tolliver isn't one dimensional but he isn't good at anything either. I think we might have to play Smoove at SF more than we would like.

For this team to win in the regular season won't be that hard because Smith and Horford are legit top 25 talent in terms of players. But they aren't going far if they can't find an identity. I say start Harris who is one of the best PnR PG's in the NBA from previous stats and film and run that s**t to death with Horford. Nothing but good will come from it and it will open up room for our shooters like Morrow, Korver, Tolliver, Jenkins, and Williams. GO HAWKS!

:obama:

There isn't one PF I would take over him. Gasol, Amare, Love, Griffin, Bosh, LMA... It doesn't matter. Horford is a top 10 player. We just haven't utilize him yet because of personnel. I blame Atlanta because they needed that PnR PG extremely bad and they failed to land one till this year. Bibby was :flabbynsick: and had a career year here. Teague is like Lue and Anthony Johnson in terms of role. He ain't a starting PG. He is talented but he's more like Bobby Jackson.

why no mention of Dirk? :pacspit:

Dirk too one dimensional. If he still had Chandler though :whoo:

Horford biggest issue is he can't create his own shot consistently and probably never. But you get that man a PnR PG and watch him shine.

Where do the atl hawk fans get all this confidence from? Has something happened that doesn't make them a first or second round exit again this year?

I don't have confidence in the Hawks. Just Al Horford. Maybe Devin Harris. Josh Smith is extremely talented but I don't see it. Teague needs to be a 6th man. Lou Williams needs to be a 6th man. We don't have a starting SF on the roster. We don't have a starting true center. The Hawks are too flawed.

ATL…overly
Nah. Not until he develops a low post game & even then I would hesitate to say he's elite. There's probably only 5 or 6 truly elite players in the game right now & I don't see Horford having that type of ceiling. Smoove COULD, but he's a headcase half the time so he'll never truly make that next step, he'll just give glimpses

Horford is good a and CAN be elite but he is not that yet. I think he's reached his peak in terms of skill set. All he can do is improve on the things he already does well so dont expect him to add a whole new repertoire.

Whatever happened to y'all pairing J-SMooth and Dwight Howard together again? I love the way Hawks fan be fantasizing about crazy sh!t.:pachaha:

Y'all gonna fell Joe's absence tho. In a bad way.

He has a good low post game. He just doesn't have a very good or elite one. If can draw double teams and is a threat from the post. I don't know where this post game trash comes from. He doesn't create but he can play with his back to the basket or face-up. I see elite as a special player who you can win a title with. To me, there are 12 of them in the NBA and none of them are PF's right now. Dirk was one at one point but not anymore.

Smoove is like J.R. Smith and guys like that. He would be better suited as a 6th man. He is too stupid in terms of team basketball to ever be the player many Atlanta fans hope for but as long as we are going to send a mix of Harris/Lou or Teague/Harris or Teague/Lou as our guard combo, we are stuck with Smith at PF protecting the rim and his excellent off the ball defensive skills.

I'll take Horford over most NBA players in a heartbeat. Just get me a PnR PG and I'll take that tandem all day.

Yeah, Smoove and Dwight was all a dream :snoop:

I agree, I think he is what he is in terms of skill-set. He is an elite PnR PF who needs to be used as such who plays great team defense and man on PF's. He struggles guarding talented big legit centers, creating his own shot, and protecting the rim.

We didn't use Joe that well anyway. We are going to miss him considering what we gave up but not as much as you think. We are still going to be a 44-50 wins team who is bounced from the 1st or 2nd round. Joe is a #2 option who needs to be used as such. We always used him as a #1 option and teams defended him as such. Now in Brooklyn next to Deron and Crash, he will finally be in his natural role as a key role player.

Who the hell is Crash?

Anyway, Joe Johnson is a damn good player and well deserving all star. But the way Hawks fans talk about him here on the radio you'd think Joe Johnson was some janitor at the arena that they roll out to play SG every night :mindblown:

I'd have to see the current Hawks roster to give an honest opinion but from what I KNOW y'all have now i dont see ya'll anywhere near 50 wins. They will struggle to go .500

Gerald Wallace is nickname is Crash.

I love Joe Johnson. The main reason I am a Brooklyn Nets fan for this year. Probably the only reason. But he wasn't used correctly. I think a lot of Atlanta fans saw his contract and assumed he should be playing like Wade and Lebron. That wasn't possible. I always said Joe is as good of a player I've seen who didn't look like two to three players in one like Lebron, Wade, and other superstars like that.

I think you are underestimating the team too much. We won a lot of games last year without our best player. We are going to win games just simply off our athleticism in a 82 game season or even a condensed season but the playoffs are a different monster. Last year we got lucky only having to play the West several times a year. If we start Harris and get the PnR running, we might be a lot better than even 50 wins. If we can get Devin to play at an All Star level, Jeff off the bench in a critical role, and Horf as a beast level, anything is possible. :manny:
