Ive said this before even though i didnt like saying it(not Howard specefically). Brcause mismanagement of money probably happens at all these schools. But HBCUs have fewer people(donors) to truly answer to. Not only mismanagement,but i dont think the people in charge are getting as much as they could out of what they have. You dont have athletics but i feel they could find other ways to make money with the talent of the study body. Even athletics could be better if you created a culture around it that wasnt trying to be like bigger schools. They have some elements that are different,but need more.

Look at the numbers and how much each school can afford to lose. Brown University had an endowment of $7.2 billion. Norfolk State University has an endowment of $68 million. North Carolina A&T has $202 million. The HBCU with the highest endowment is Howard at $1 billion. Compare that to Harvard that is sitting on $53 billion. Point being these HBCU'S can't afford to lose as much as the PWIs because they are starting with less.

This goes beyond "MAGA hates academia" in this case. They actually like academia....when it employs who they want and enrolls who they want. It's not a coincidence that all the noteworthy politicians complaining about elite universities graduated from those same elite universities and are focused on getting their children into them. Vance isn't enrolling his kids in public middle/high schools and then shipping them off to Ohio State for college. His kids will go to Harvard.
What they truly hate is the idea of black academia. They don't really believe in it. They see a black person and assume that person is worse at his/her job, got the job due to liberal sympathy, and got an education due to affirmative action. So they don't want black people going to Harvard OR Ohio State....and while they're fine with you going to Howard, they want to ensure you don't have the resources or opportunities those other schools have because you don't deserve them. Because you're black.
Universities pump money into communities, cities, etc. They employ a lot of people. University research is a major reason why the US leaped over other nations in the 20th century. Black people deserve to play a role in that. HBCUs are studying all types of shyt that impacts black lives. Including heart disease and cholesterol. And sickle cell. The list goes on.
