My old man is admin at an HBCU....There are many issues plaguing HBCUs...Feds cutting funding and changing PLUS loan requirements...alumni giving...ect...But the main issue is that America's school systems are not producing enough qualified African American students...quite sad. They have to diversify or die.

My daughter goes to a HBCU and this year they have the biggest freshman class they've had in over 10 years. But even with that windfall, they still mismanaged the housing situation to the point where campus security had to be on hand to stop people from showing out. took housing deposits from people and when the students showed up didn't have rooms assigned to them, so they started giving away rooms that belonged to upper classmen who showed up and were irate. People who waited until the sunday before classes started to move back in were completely SOL. It took weeks to straighten out. Also there were way more white women on campus than I expected. I mean like 8%, but I wasn't even expecting that many. Also I had dealing with the admin for anything.

Dudes probably coming out of there with low grade point averages. I guess if all you want to do is party and fukk. HBCU is the way to go?

anybody who went/goes to an HBCU will tell you....it's not about that party life...especially compared to pwi's. most HBCUs are strict and have no alcohol/drug polices. outside special weekends like homecomings and football classics, HBCU parties are not as frequent and wild as white schools.

You did not hear this from any black person that graduated from an HBCU.... you aint fooling no one with this bullshyt
exactly only folks who have negative things to say are cats that never been to college, dropped out of a HBCU, or went to a PWI and want to feel better about their crappy and demonic college experience. Everyone I went to school with is Eating, besides folks who majored in Communications and Psychology but them folks are struggling at every university :lolbron:

Actually, you're wrong. Idk how old you are, but things have changed (which is probably why hbcu's are "on their way out" like the op said). The people that I went to school with who went to or are going to an hbcu wanted to go moslty because they thought it would be fun and for the parties. "It's always lit" they said. Those people are/were between the ages of 17-23, some have already graduated, some are about to graduate, and some are in their first year.

You are only further proving my point. The people who went there wanted to go there mostly for the fun, parties "college experience" that they thought they would get by going there. I don't know anyone who dropped out of an HBCU, but I do know people who have transferred from one to a PWI. I also know people who attend hbcu's. If you don't know anyone irl, there are reviews online about certain hbcu's (on Youtube, message boards) both negative and positve. There are even freshman intro videos that talk about how they can't wait to get there to party. I know about it because I know someone who made one of those lol.

Those are usually the same people who care too much about being popular, well known, trying to impress others, needing people to like them, their reputation and other things that don't really matter. The same people who cared about that stuff in hs. That was one of the reasons some of the people I know transferred from there.

I think some of you are so bothered because you know it's true. Either way, those schools just aren't the way they used to be. I expect more of them to close in the future, especially if they keep raising their prices like I've heard that some of them have.

Again, It's not bs, you're just bothered by the truth. The people in the age bracket that I posted are the people that currently go to those hbcu's or have recently graduated from one and that is the way that they were/are thinking. Things change overtime and those schools and the students who go there are not the same as you remember when you went there years ago.
