Question:

When/Where did this "kings/queens" talk begin in the black community? How did this movement start and what's it based on if anything?

And do many other black people in the diaspora refer to their as kings and queens?

Im asking because i always read womens dating profiles and they always be talking about "queen looking for her Kings" or "my dear Kings, please ...."
Don't be mad because African Americans have more confidence and higher self esteem than Haitians nikka:beli:

I wonder how the dynamics of black men and women will play out 20 years from now. I know for a fact educated black men aren’t feeling the show and characters. Educated black women and other groups will eat this up though.
we just gota find these college educated black females and go extra hard to pull them out the confusion.

*sigh*
I guess I should have known this would somehow upset a coli clone on some "we all we got" "they dissing us" type shyt :snoop:

Either way, if you feel we need to disclose kings to show that we too acknowledge black kings
  • Toussaint L'ouverture always claimed to be a the son of Gaou, the king of Allada
  • Dessalines became king and later emperor of Haiti
  • King Boyer 'invaded' the Dominican Republic in ended slavery there
  • King Henri Christophe was one of the young Haitian soldiers who came to the U.S. for the battle of Savannah. Later when he became King, he sent Haitian troops to Bolivia and Venezuela to help fight Independence and end slavery
This wasnt meant to be a pissing contest. I just wanted to ask where this started just as before I asked where all the 'God' stuff started and someone explained it was as a result of the 5 percent nation and other movements in the black community here

No. See above answer. Just curious about how it started because I know most trends tend to have a history that perhaps I didn't know
