If the cash sale goes through with the Ellisons and they merge with Paramount, they'd be wise to continue to call the service HBO. If they switch to just naming it Paramount it'll ruin the branding. Paramount is known as "old white people shyt"

IIRC, David Ellison mentioned if he gets WBD, HBO Max will consolidate into Paramount+ so there won't be any name changes.

That would be a mistake. HBO has a lot more subscribers and a better name. WB/HBO is much more historical than the name Paramount even tho they've too been around forever. Ellison doesn't strike me as a guy who knows what he's doing other than being a rich conservative POS.

I sadly doubt they care if it's a mistake, it's more of making Paramount look like the bigger company, despite that WB is bigger than them. The last sentence you just describe his dad Larry, but he's probably no different than him. Hopefully, the Ellisons don't get WBD
