Always found it amusing how the media dubbed him the,"King of Pop" as if that motherfukker hadn't dabbled in & dominanted almost every type of sound there was. Dude wasn't the King of Pop, he was the Godfather of Music. He WAS music. It was synonymous with his entire existence since he was 5 years old, and he legitimately revolutionized the music industry, from his showmanship, to the experimental success in the studio, all the way to the music video. "King of Pop" is and always will be a backhanded compliment.
Saying Michael is just the "King of Pop" is like saying Michael Jordan was the King of Athleticism. Of course he dominated the game in that regard, but it was his entire body of work and continued excellence in multiple facets of the game -- on AND off the court -- that made him synonymous with the game of basketball and arguably the greatest to ever do it. The same holds true with Michael Jackson and I can't believe we ever accepted less.
