yeah i never understood why directors do/say that shyt. Like yeah it does add a effect and makes it look gritty but who the fukk cares? People are so used to HD nowadays that shyt is a chore to watch. Im watching the shield rn and the directors/writers said the same shyt

I remember them using that excuse when the first DVD collection of the godfather came out in the early 00s.

they wanted to "preserve" its original look

then they re-master it for blu
